Windows 8

Get ready, Microsoft fans, and Yuri Mintskovsky. On February 29th, Microsoft is releasing the Windows 8 Consumer Preview!

Microsoft knows how popular Apple’s tablets and smartphones are, and they want a share of the pie. They’re hoping they’ll succeed in their quest with Windows 8. The new operating system has had a major overhaul, with significant modifications to accommodate the dynamic changes that have been made to devices in recent years, including support for the ARM microprocessors that exist in computers of tablet form. Windows 8 is designed for handheld, portable, and touch technology, which is a huge step toward today’s popular devices. Expect Windows 8 to be intuitive and fast moving.

The appearance of the operating system has also been redesigned, enabling you to reach programs instantly, rather than the traditional 2-step process.

And fans of apps will be pleasantly surprised to find that a new app store for Windows will now be available, so you’ll no longer have to be jealous of your Apple-toting friends!

Yuri Mintskovsky is looking forward to the preview launch on February 29, which is to take place in Barcelona, Spain.

McAfee Software Glitch

McAfee, well known for its anti-virus software, released a warning regarding once of their products. In a statement released earlier this week, the company has admitted that their McAfee SaaS for Total Protection could make computers with this software installed vulnerable to hacker attacks, in which the hackers would use customer computers to distribute spam. In addition to becoming a spam proxy, an additional flaw existed in the same software that allowed attackers to execute code remotely. So far, the company has stated that at least one user has become a victim.

Just a note, the company has stated that once a user’s computer has been hacked, other information and data would not be accessible. Therefore, personal and confidential information would not be compromised.

McAfee SaaS for Total Protection is a web-based service that is designed to protect users from hidden viruses online and in email. Fortunately, McAfee has addressed the issue with a patch that that the company is scrambling to complete. The patch would resolve both issues and users would be able to have their current software updated automatically, since it is service based.

WWII Top Fighter Jets

WWII was among other things a milestone also in the area of flight and fighter jets. Each side developed and perfected its own fighter plane model.

The fighter jets used in World War II were usually small aircrafts, fast and easy to maneuver. Their main purpose was to engage in warfare or to protect the big bombardiers on their way to the target. Of course they had also the capacity to hit ground targets, such as railroads, bridges or ground fighting units.

1940 – Supermarine Spitfire
This British invention was designed as a short range interceptor and was used mainly by the Allied Forces. Due to its exceptional maneuverability and speed it was used until the late 50s. R.J. Mitchell, chief designer at Supermarine Aviation Works initiated the work on this project and after he died in 1937 his work was continued by Joseph Smith. During the fight over Great Britain, Spitfire played an essential role. However it proved not to be the most efficient fighter jet as some might think if we consider the number of fights that were won using it. Nevertheless, the jet was highly appreciated by the pilots and it played several roles during its life span: it served as a bombardier-fighter, carrier and training jet.

1941 – Mitsubishi A6M Zero
This long range fighter was designed by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service and was nick named Hamp or Hap by the Allies. The jet, developed by Mitsubishi was the best aircraft launched from carriers. The airplane is famous for its win rate in the air fights (aka dogfights), accounting for hit rate of up to even 12:1. Taking desperate measures, the Allies designed some fighting techniques that reduced the advantages of the Mitsubishi A6M Zero. In the Pacific battle, this jet was used in the suicide missions by kamikaze pilots. The Japanese produced over 11 000 of these. For the Zero projects, Mitsubishi competed against the Nakajima Company. In the end, Nakajima withdrew from the competition because they deemed the demands of the Japanese navy concerning this project to be unrealistic.

1944 – P 51 Mustang
Developed by the North American Aviation Company, the P51 Mustang was brought to the front during the second part of the war. It was designed as a single person fighter and a long range airplane. It was perfected and assembled in only 117 days. The first to use this jet was the British – Royal Air Force (RAF). Initially, it took part in the hunting missions, bombardments/deployments and recognition raids. Later on, it was reassigned to escort big bombardiers. P51 won its fame in Europe, few of this jets being ever used against the Japanese in the Pacific. Cheap, fast and easy to maneuver, this aircraft was used until the early 90s. The last version, P-51D, included 6 M2 Browning machine guns. The reputation of this fighter jet resulted in Ford adopting the name and designing what is today known as the sports car Ford Mustang.

Erasing Computer History

clear history

Every computer has the ability to remember every activity you’ve ever performed on it. From emailing to surfing the net and entering personal information, your computer tracks all activities. As a result, it is incredibly important to erase all this information for your security and privacy. You wouldn’t want others to access this information, would you? But even if the computer in question is yours and you do not share it with anyone else, you may also benefit from erasing the history simply because it frees up your computer’s hard drive space, making an additional hard drive unnecessary.

Standard options of deleting a computer’s history allow you to recover information, if you require it. As a result, if you would like to permanently erase anything, special software is required. Computer history erasing software, also know as shredding programs, are an effective way to safely and securely eliminate all history without any possibility for recovery, as information is overwritten. This is imperative if you have particularly sensitive information you need to erase (e.g. bank information, personal data, etc.). There are a variety of shredders out there, and some are even free (although we can’t vouch for the quality of these). These free shredders are easily accessible and require downloading to your computer.

To erase your browsing history that is collected online, simply check under History in the toolbar (if using Safari), and select Clear History. For other browsers, it’s this easy as well.

Finding Free Software

downloading free software
Here’s a tip from Yuri Mintskovsky:

Free software is out there, but it can be very difficult to find. You may have to visit dozens of sites in the hope that there’s a freebie available for you to download, without finding anything. Here is what you can do to help narrow your search for freebies, and find them more easily.

Start your search by figuring out the exact software you need. This can be easily done by reading up on the software at review sites, forums, techie blogs and even the manufacturer’s site as well. There’s bound to be plenty of information available, so this could take a while to complete.

Usually, you’ll start with one specific software in mind, but don’t restrict your search to that alone. You may be able to find alternative programs that are just as functional, so explore your options (while you check out the sites for information about your desired program, you may stumble upon alternatives as well).

Once you find the exact program you want, use the power of search engines to find the software for you. Good terms to type in are:

free NAME OF SOFTWARE (e.g. free microsoft word)
free TYPE OF SOFTWARE (e.g. free word processing software)
NAME OF SOFTWARE for free (e.g. microsoft word free)

And don’t forget to check out the manufacturer’s site thoroughly as well. Many companies offer a free trial that allows you to use your desired software at no cost for a limited time (such as a couple of weeks or a month). That way, you can rest assured knowing that you most likely won’t get a virus when you’ve downloaded the program, too!

Yuri Mintskovsky – Software CD Library

The number of computer users out there in the world is increasing considerably every year, so that means more and more people are interested in this particular niche.  When a person decides to buy a computer, the first priority is to ask for one of the best configuration for their desktop computer or laptop. Even if they know people specialized in computers or if they ask the shop consultant, most common buyers want the best product.  But the main question is why? Why do people want expansive computers just to surf on the web listen to music and maybe watch a movie? Because that’s why most common users are doing on the computer day after day.

They have some free software like a music player, a video player, maybe an instant messenger and a friendly browser. If we talk about kids or teenagers, they use their computer for games too, but that’s about all. So if this is all their activity on a computer, why would they want performance from a PC?

For those that are having questions about this issue, there are so many Software CD Library clubs, the first ever having been created by Yury Mintskovsky, which was a real eye opener for most of the customers, because this way they can push the limit of their machine and find out how many things a computer can do if you have the right pair of hands lead by your brain.

The only problem with these software is that not everyone can afford them. But don’t panic, because there are many companies like E commerce that are trying to make all those expensive products affordable for common computer users that want to learn but won’t spend a fortune for that.

Now you can discover your computer’s real value thanks to Yury Mintskovsky and his first kind Software CD Library Club ever.
